However, the gates can still be turned around whichever way you want them to before committing to building them :)
With the gate opening inwards, you are behind cover while pushing it closed.
If the doors open on the outside then the beam becomes useless and the ram becomes unnecessary.
I would have thought someone would have nitpicked this for wooden fence gates first since they affect which side of the fence the posts are on.
