I'd probably place a monastery on the hill, but to be perfectly honest, considering your progress so far, I don't think you'll need my advice. Here I thought I was building pretty villages, and then you come along, presenting this lovely piece.
Seriously - loving what you've done!
Thank you very much, really appricate your Feedback. Good to hear my initial Goal to build a pretty town is coming along.
This is the upper left Corner on the Map, so there is still plenty of room to fill. My Monastery is actually planned for the other riverside hugging the big Mountain or directly on it...not sure yet.

Yeah, that mountain would be perfect for either a monastery or the keep (or maybe both).
When ever I've saved a nice mountain hill for a Monastery I've found in the end, when I'm tired of playing the same save, my Monastery would have benefited by a substantially larger nearly flat area with all the buildings/sub buildings that are on offer once all is unlocked else I find them looking to tightly packed and with any sort of hill they look askew and not lining up properly even though they function as they should. Until foundations are offered in Foundations to level things out I'm trying my best to avoid building large things like Monastery, castles and to only a slightly lesser degree, Manor houses in favor of putting them on more largely cleared relatively flat ground unless you are only wanting to build smaller parts of larger monuments like building a Manor house with 1 sub building that would fit nicely on top of a mountain/hills mostly flat spot and not on the side of the mountain/hill.
Anyway, looking nice so far
I think it looks best at night. Just finished my Marketplace while thinking about what i will do with the Hill.

Yeah that was my initial thought too. A field on the Hills rolling up always looks great, but dont really like to have my Wheat-Buildings there.
Maybe a Hops-Field could fit.
The Monastery is a big Project and didnt even build it in my first 150h Town. But for this Town it is all about beauty and not so much Population (like the last one).
Had my ups and downs too and it is sometimes overwhelming when you overthink next Project. Decorating stuff helped me alot.
"Manor houses in favor of putting them on more largely cleared relatively flat ground unless you are only wanting to build smaller parts...."
For Manor Houses i decided to spread them trough out the town/landscape and build one when it kinda fits or i need a bigger Building for a space to fill.
I'm so in love with your village - I want to move in!
Can only recommend to put lights into a existing Building. It was a Gamechanger for Night Shots. This and the passiv light when you hide a lightsource into a wall, the well or other near the wall from production Buildings.
Best Building for that is the Granary, because its shines trough the windows :)
I took some inspiration from your build but it's clearly not the same or nearly as inspired. Gonna have to practice a bit more to make it look more natural.

previous game - might have gone a bit overboard with the decorating...

Looking good so far :D
You maybe have adjust the walls later, because if they upgrade they get stonewalls. It´s nice to integrate them.
I dont think its to much decoration. Like it alot. If you check Monastery or Castle Buildings out of recent Times, they always have big flowerbeds etc. Find it quite fitting for the Theme. The Church is rich and they can pay for all that xD
I had to zoom in with my old tired eyes to see where you put gardens, herbs, berries, vegetables etc. Nicely done.
Seeing as I've grown up around all sorts of medieval and hanseatic cities, I find it difficult to build just for size. I do want the monastery to look somewhat authentic, and as if it has been added to over the years as more room or functionality was needed.
The detailing on this particular one was insane, though. I had so many items in there that just placing a lamp in the end would take 3-4 seconds. LOL
Thanks! Not quite as motivated yet with my current build. Might have to restart the map, but we'll see. Currently starting cheese production, money coming in, population growing.
But no one on my main island yet because I've just been building on the mainland, basically kneecapping myself.
