Did you know you can build bridges over the light fortification walls and they both still work?

I just thought of this, I don't know why you would but if you forgot to put a gate and don't want to disrupt your wall, just put a bridge over it. I haven't tried to see how short a bridge is allowed so not sure how well it works but if so it would alleviate downgrading from busting open a wall to add a forgotten gate perhaps.
I put the gate over the bridge.

Awesome idea, especially if you forgot to add a gate and want to avoid losing the fortification buff by adding one now

Option 1:
Click on the wall.
Click edit.
Click on the wall section that need the gate and press the + sign.
Now choose one of the two section and press + again.
Click the middle section and use the shovel.
Place your gate.
Now attach the two walls to the gate.
Now apply.

Option 2:
Build a new wall and gate over the old one.
Delete that section when the new one is done.

If you have set up your walls right then it should only edit that one section. Then just prioritize the building.

I prefer the bridge because
1. I don't want to have to printout your instructions and that's the only way I'd know how to do this as it doesn't feel quite intuitive how this all works so I'll never remember it but would easily remember the bridge.
2. I like having a bridge going over a wall once in a while for some comical relief
3. Useful if you just want a temporary pass over the fence
4. Don't want houses devolving because we're human and I don't always do everything perfectly when designing fortification fencing

You are basically creating a cut out section in a wall.
Once you follow the instructions it aint hard to remember.
Yeah I think the biggest problem is if you don't build the walls with smaller segments and since I don't plan to put a gate somewhere that I want it later I generally build large swaths of fencing so that means tearing down a large section of fence and setting the devolving timer in motion. I just tried it where I had a small segment of a fence and tore it down, placed a gate and attached the two sides of fencing and got down to 1/4 timer left when it got built back up, had it been a larger section than what it was this time I would have had a massive amount of houses devolve.

Anyway, the bridge over the fence is just one more way to do it and in my opinion looks more fun than just another gate, sort of Monty Pythonesque.

Yeah I learned that one the hard way. I went to expand my walls outward and when I went to remove a section it edited my entire wall.

The main this is to NOT use the curve thingy by default, instead make smaller straight sections, then go back a make the curvy sections.
