Cheezes, the amount you need!
My Sims are obsessed with cheese. They devour 29 meat, 36 bread, and a whopping 46 cheese per week. And as if that weren’t enough, the tavern is a bottomless cheese pit too.

Somehow, despite owning 6 cheesemakers and 9 cattle farms, I still have to buy 90 cheese a month. What kind of dairy-hungry madness is this?!

I almost never complain about game balance, but come on - this is UDDERLY ridiculous! 🧀🐄😂

it sounds to me like youve been promoting people.

The only people I promote are soldiers and the people working in the cheesemaker/butcher/baker, EVERYONE else stays a serf, it really helps manage demand. My 746 pop town eats less refined food than yours.

There needs to be more to do with money. I promote people and end up swimming in tax $$$. I turn off the taxes when I start swimming in trade money.

I do it this way as well. I only promote villager's that would benefit from it based on their job.
I found you can sorta prioritize the order food gets eaten in by picking the order of the food stalls. My cheese is only sold from 1 stall in the entire city and its sorta hidden in the back of my manor where very few people pass by it naturally. They actually pass by 2 bread and 2 meat stalls before getting anywhere near it so it often only gets visited by the highest promoted villagers that actually need all 3 refined foods.

Its not perfect and I still have shortages of cheese, but I am up to 491 people without importing anything except boar (and thats mostly because I haven't bought area I plan to use as a massive hunting ground yet).

But limiting promotions to only those absolutely needed (Bakers, Butchers, Cheese Makers mostly) does make a massive difference in controlling consumption. The serfs still eat alot of any refined food they can get their hands on though.

This is exactly what i noticed aswell.
It seems Villagers tend to pick from the nearest stall available, which can cause uneven consumption of goods
