Food/Good Storage Proximity to Markets
I have managed to build up to a Burg with about 500+ residents. I have various "neighborhoods" with dedicated markets, but I had hoped that I could specialize certain locations where I only have to worry about producing a food or good in one place and then have it automatically distributed throughout. I am not seeing that happen.

I have also had issues with some markets not having refined or rustic foods, even though there is plenty in storage. I just read on another post about storage being closer to the market rather than the production building. Would that be better?

I have City Markets, which have built-in storage and transporters, but they are not stocking up, and/ or the Market Tender is not pulling from the storage consistently. I have had many dissatisfied Citizens leave. I keep building more production buildings to try to create an over abundance of supplies.

I have noticed that each subdivision of residences I have will need their own entire supply chain, which seems inconvenient. I don't have a lot of available open land to keep placing more and more farms, or to keep reserving forests for hunting.

I kind of wish the game had pig and chicken farms so hunting wasn't the only way to get meat.

But anyway, my question is, how do I force redistribution of goods and food so that all my markets are properly supplied so I don't have to keep building more and more production buildings, etc.?

One thing I can tell you about "the meat" issue: Do not "reserve forest areas for hunting." I think this is very inefficient. If you are making plenty of coin/money, use it to buy boar, and then make the meat from there. Use all that forest area, for other structures.
In Early Access I was also used to building my cities like a collection of villages that specialised in certain Food or Goods. Somehow since the v1.0 release of the game the distribution of Food and Goods from production buildings to storage to point of sales works differently and now I always struggle to get the supply chain working decently enough to distribute stock to all corners of the city.

If somebody could shine a light on the best way to set up the supply chains, that would be of great help! :)
I make no claims to expertise on supply chains, but I think that transporters are the primary workers for moving things around. I always build a granary set to get maximum near each market area, plus often a warehouse set the same way for goods sold at that market. The transporters gather the food and goods and the market traders don't have to walk as far to restock. They are not always right on top of their job, but empty stalls don't last as long. The market traders will normally go to the nearest granary or warehouse which has what they need, and if that is far away the stall will be empty a long time. The market traders aren't always as efficient as they might be, but having necessities close by is better than not. Basic method: Sufficient storage in granaries and warehouses close to production and granaries and warehouses set to get maximum near markets.
Thank you everyone for your insight! This was helpful! I will have to keep my logistics in mind for the next time I start a new map. I'm going to try to optimize what I currently have and see if I can stop people from leaving angrily due to lack of Rustic and Refined food, despite having a bunch in storage...
