How do I get gold and the buildings to mine it?

There are no gold deposits on the map I'm playing on, nor do I have any buildings that would allow me to mine them. How can I get them?

Gold only comes as a quarry and not as those small nodes like stone and iron. You first need to send out your bailiff to prospect mineral deposits on the map. Once you found a gold deposit and expanded your territory around it you can click the deposit and add the quarry buildings. Its not a building you place and more a building you edit onto the deposit.
