Seneschal Returning after a failed attempt?

In my first game I was doing a Prestigious Burg, Part IV. Due to some bad pathing the guests failed to find the tavern dropping my happiness down below the threshold and failing the mission.

It said I could re-try, but I don't have an option to invite the Seneschal again and its been several weeks ingame. Does it ever return or should I just start a new game?

So you can retry, but it takes a while before it pops up.

Now just to figure out what needs I am missing.. since I haven't figured out where it tells you. ;)

I have the same problem,
seneschal just never returns

For me it took a very long time, I think it was almost like 90 days? Then I got another event icon at my city center and could re-start it.

When he arrives, click on him and you can see all of the things he requires.

Its totally random. Ive actually had a request to host a seneschal event, while I was currently hosting a seneschal.

I just failed the event too, even though at the end of the time his Satisfaction was at 110% O.O All his needs were taken care off and i solved all of the mini-events during his stay as well.
Any idea about why it failed?

Good question, I failed once because on the last day I had one of my food vendors come up shy knocking it just below the threshold.

The seneschall comes with two soldiers accompanying him. They have their own happiness indicator and need to be happy too.

It's my understanding that if the senechal's happiness drops below the target percentage at any time, the quest is considered a failure even if at the end it's high enough.
