I don't understand the Monastery
I've built a Monastery and a sub building but don't understand at all how to fill the villager AI slots inside it so that I can get what I need to expand my trade routes. So my Monastery buildings sit empty and no way for me to assign villagers inside.

Click the monk / nun sleeping quarters and (afaik) permanently assign villagers to the monastery.
You have dorms in your monastery, right?

To assign villagers to the monastery you need to click the orange "devote" button available if you click on your dorms or double click any monastery part to get to the "main monument" menu, then they will assign themselves to jobs within the monastery.
The monastery is basically an automated, isolated miniature town. You need to build dormitories for the nuns and monks, assign villagers to them and they will put themselves to work.
Okay, the monk dorm won't allow me to assign anybody it's grayed out but I see that's different than the nun, I have assigned 9 nuns then it grayed out, so will these 9 then move around the monastery and populate jobs that I can't manually assign?

What is reason no monks can be assigned to monks dorm?

Presumably you have no unemployed male villagers?

Hi,
When you have migrants on the center village , pause the game , open your monastery to see what you need, choose your migrants (M/F) , clic on the orange button , unpause the game , if you have free jobs ,they go directly...
Because alls is automatic, you just have to equalize monks/nuns with free jobs...
Nothing more to do ^^

I'm not sure, I never looked at villagers as male and female only non-gender

Anyways , if you have choosen the mix monks/nuns you are able to assign a villager without job to the monastery...
Excepting if one of yours dormitories( M or N ) was full...

Okay then I assume I have no free male villagers since I can't assign any monks. I guess I'll have to keep letting villagers in and hope some are male because I have 10 free now but apparently none are able to be monks.
if you click on them you can clearly tell from their portraits who are male and who female.

If your free ones are all female to free some males you can switch their jobs for the female villagers to take the job and the male to become unemployed and available for the monastery

You have understood the problem with the mix monks/nuns choice , but don't care the same problem will comi too if you choose only monks or only nuns ..^^

Okay, so I find a male villager and terminate his job but can't assign him as a monk, why that doesn't work? Do I have to only use fresh male villagers that have never been employed?

Yeah I see that now but I'd been looking for info in game that actually breaks it down in words like
75 Male
38 Female
somewhere in game but it either doesn't exist or I don't find it yet.

I advice you to wait for a new good migrant because change the job of a woodcutters level 6 (for exemple! ) was a lot of wasting time...
Just my thought...
Anyways you must have totally 150 monks/nuns to finish the aspiration ^^

Level doesn't affect productivity so it is actually irrelevant atm. The level is only used in some quest dialog options to boost success probability.

That should work, give them a moment to actually "finish up" from the old job and he should be assignable
