The serial restarter & playing wrong
I previously posted about been addicted to the early game and that I’ve restarted going on 10+ times now.
I’ve managed to stay strong and keep my current town about 130 population now although I have had the urge Ive not relapsed and started from scratch.
The new way I think I’m playing the game wrong is I’ve unlocked all territories from the start I just don’t like the restriction i like the freedom to build exactly where I want. I think this is kinda cheesing the game because I’m paying no upkeep my treasury is sky high.
I also play wrong by always sticking at normal speed I never pause or speed up.
Anyway I’m just rambling when I should be getting ready for work failing at life again 😂

I believe that there is no right or wrong way to play. If you like restarting again and again, if there's joy in that for you, more power to you :-)

I'm currently playing with all regions unlocked as well because I simply don't like being restricted by the mini territories and my focus is building a pretty and efficient city.
I'm always restarting new games not only in Foundation but in a small small amount of other games.

But in Foundation for me. I believe it's caused by how ugly things get the further you continue to play.

I don't mean ugly looking, it's got nice aesthetics to me, but rather ugly as in messy with treying to keep track of everything I'm trying to do in game. I'm positive it would only take a few quality of life features to help alleviate that such as
. Having a built in note pad in the game
. Having the ability to place smallish sticky notes in the game world where I want them and have them hidden in their own layer in the spyglass so I can remind myself what I'm trying to accomplish at an exact spot in the game.

And a few others that are difficult to think of at 3:43 in the A.M.
I am among the Restarter.
Usually because early the Territory really limit Space, and im often not interested in rebuilding the entire city. Also I usually try to think of the best spaces where can i throw Storage / Production together next to Housing and keep Raw Production as close as possible.
So I actually have 1 Singular City. But since distance matters its really hard to keep everything together. But creating Space for Housing near Raw Production also requires often access to food and I normally want main Marketplace but having raw production like 1000m away its just not working :/

Which is why I often restart because I possibly see good spots after building.

You can't really play wrong because it's easy to restart evertyhing from the same game, when you sell your territories everything gets deleted

Sort of. None of the dirt patches or roads are removed, so zoning residential is a bit wonky if you're trying to stay in the same area.

To the OP, I love restarting. Once a design plan comes together, and I can see that it will succeed, I'm kinda like, "what now?"

I like trying new ideas, and the mid-late game just doesn't have that. I feel like I'm just kinda babysitting at that point.

Oh I agree there’s no wrong way to play I just like to say I’m playing wrong before the more cynical steam user point it out although foundation community is pretty chill.
Yeah the territories are too small and bizarre shapes have you found this has changed your economy too ?

Oh me too I’m always restarting I talk about this all time there’s something about the first struggle that’s addicting especially city builders that’s why I thought I would like Against the storm but ironically I got bored of having to restart in that game I’m never pleased 😂
