One is through trading, making extras for things like planks (and other items for trade routes you unlocked) and selling them.
The other is through collecting taxes.
By default you can only get taxes from houses but through the workers tech tree you can unlock more things to tax as well (windmills for example).
Although it's not proper income, you can demand money from your people, it will lower their happiness but it's still a decent way to get coing early on.
For trade you should have set up one trade route through the tutorial but you can ofc start selling any further resources the neighbouring villages want to buy.
I have a trade route unlocked, but the Trader walks towards my town, then turns and just walks off into the distance, never actually enters my town. I have a Warehouse setup, not sure if there is a trading post but if so, I don't have it unlocked yet.
I do not have access to an tax office!
Did you maybe accidentally choose the "I need no advice" option and skipped a few quests?
I'm gonna redo it. I think I just very stupidly missed the step/didn't retain the knowledge. Ty!
Ima redo the tutorial. My brain is just not making the connection. Ty!
If you place your mouse pointer over the two arrows, you should see a tool-tip and one button will indicate to buy, the other to sell. Click on the button to sell, and it should change color (either to green or red, can't remember which is which). Then insert the quantity you desire in the far right column. Make sure you have the quantity of the good, in a (any) warehouse/granary, and then next time the trader arrives, he should buy the item, up to the amount he is allowed to buy (on each trip), and within the limit you chose on the trading page in the book.
THANK YOU. I do not know why my brain was having such a freakin hard time with that. I think I play too many games like this and my wires are fried, lol.
No problem. Just remember that when it comes time to buy an item you want (like maybe tools), you need to have a designated (named) spot in a warehouse/granary, for the trader to drop-off the goods you are buying.
