CANT ASSIGN WORKERS

I cant seem to assign workers to certain jobs. I had them assigned prior and all of a sudden they unassigned themselves? It says I have no available workers, but I click on population tab and I have many unemployed. am I missing something?

One thing to note: You can not have complete control over assigning jobs that monks or nuns do.
Is your concern mainly related to those structures that they work at?

nope. mainly tailor, coal worker, sometimes grainy, lumber worker. I noticed that it wouldnt let me assign someone to a mill, but i could assign them to a warehouse. you run into anything like this?

I just at this very moment got two new people join my population and I cant add them to iron work

If you read the text on the building's worker assignment field you will see that for some buildings higher rank workers are required so you have to first promote them and then assign them.
