Seriously though, games like this usually have a population cap so someone's potato won't explode and they start yelling things like 'bad optimization', 'bad devs', 'refund', etc. Mods might be able to raise the cap but not sure there are mods for this game.
Now they start to build some houses but there are free spaces in houses, too and they are very lacy to get in this houses - my border is now near 2k people in the map
Keep in mind villagers want to be nearer their workplaces- so those spots fill up first, and it doesn't hurt to paint more residential areas once you have the hexes for it.
I am also curious how to trigger the building of homes. So far, I just paint small area's green first. So, homes are build there. And i make sure the area's first to e painted are "far" away from the workplaces. Now i have tightly packed houses. And not so many roads in between them. but yea, it looks as pure chaos.
BUTTTTTT: I have made small neightbourhoods. and people kept complaining about "not enough housing". I checked there work places. and an area near it was free for building. And i mean: directly adjesting. Room was big enough for 2-3 homes. But they didnt build.
In the end i Build on the opposite side of a grainfield. And 2 homes got build.... finaly complaining stopped....
but yea, the area remains empty to this day.
I realy would like to know: how to trigger building homes?
