how to collect tax

I have a tax officer and a tax office (with a door ) yet i don't get the option to set the tax rate on my town
am i still missing something ?

Did you look in the book under the taxation page?

checked that page of the book and all i see is a weekly or monthly balance report no page to set taxes
edit : o'k think iv'e got it had a treasury office not a tax office

Under the Economy page in the book (F4 key) there should be two sub-pages Taxes and Budget once you have a Tax Office, not sure what you mean by Treasury Office maybe it is from a mod? The vanilla game only has Treasuries for gold storage :/

When you build yourself a tax office just hit the F8 key. That'll take you straight to the taxation tab.

Don't forget a tax office needs to have light fortification (simply at a tower to the sub building)
