any mods or ways to get more gems for jewellery?

I guess you know about your mines producing some, so:
- rarely, hospitium visitors will leave one
- soldiers will bring them (as well as jewelry) from some raids. Read the descriptions.
- you can buy them from the fourth trade route. The problem with this one is that you pay more for them that you can get for jewelry. Has this been corrected?

No mods that I am aware of.

Do all maps have jewel deposits? On several I think that I have had my bailiff prospect every deposit, but no jewels.

Stone, Iron, Marble, Quartz and Gold are always present at least once in a vanilla map. Stone, Iron, (Quartz?) and Gold can also produce gems as extra (low probability)

get 24-36 military and CONSTANTLY send them out on EVERY mission.
they bring back a LOT of jewelry and gems(and other stuff).
and dont forget to rearm them with spears at 1st chance. it makes them tougher.
