Why paint zones? Why such a small painting tool?

I've put in a LOT of time on this game and love it, yet two things bother me. Why should I have to paint the exploitative and residential zones at all? Why can't I just use the forbidden tool to paint unusable area, or unpaint areas as I choose and have each area START as fully painted? All I do every zone is paint 80-90% as fully blue and green, and the tool is SO SMALL and takes so long to cover the space! And worse, there are ZERO mods for anything to do with zoning! I'd think there'd be at least a few. Oh, well, rant over.

you do know that you can use the scroll wheel with the ctrl key to make the brush much bigger, right? Or you want to make it even bigger than that max size?

L key will narrow your brush size

I tell them which part of the forest they should clear first.
So for me - to unpaint areas would be much more work ...

Forbidden tool is to mark areas where they are not allowed to walk at all.

Actuaally, is there a way to change how quickly these buttons change the brush size? I find it too fast myself, there's no fine control and have to use mouse wheel.

Yeah first thing I do is paint everything blue then paint everything green. 'Teal mode' makes the city building feel more organic, especially when coupled with the awesome way they do roads.

Changing the brush size helps a lot, but it's still tedious since I'm just painting everything anyways. Never actually used forbidden zone. I don't see the point.

Its no prob when you play it your way (and to avoid what is tedious for you),
but otheres like the way paint zones work. So everyone to ones liking.
