Question about similar games

Hello there,

Looking to get one game from Foundation - Kingdoms Reborn - Settlement survival - Diplomacy is not an option.

Which of these games do you recommend the most? So far, Foundation looks a bit better visually, while other games is like copies of Banished pc game? Also the price for Foundation is 30euros, the highest in the market..

It depends on what you want,

Foundation is a relatively easy sandbox city-building game. There are no enemies, your villagers won't all instantly die or leave, etc. It is a much more relaxed experience overall and it has Settler-like visuals.

Kingdoms Reborn is much closer to Banished but it also supports MP which is a lot of fun if you want to take advantage of. The visuals and mechanics are more realistic and closer to the likes of Banished, Forest Village, etc.

The other two I haven't played so far to have something to add, hope this helps :)

Diplomacy is not an Option is about killing ever growing armies that attack you. I've only played the demo, so no idea how much there is to build in the game now, but I'm not sure I would call it a city builder. More like a defensive RTS, feels very similar to the Stronghold games.

Settlement Survival is somewhere between Foundation and Banished, no enemies just you against the elements. Not as harsh as Banished and there are difficulty setings, irrc. Straight roads and the ol' rectangular grid compared to Foundation'S more organic looking cities, but it's pretty good.

Might also consider a game called Ostriv. Very detailed and has so many productions chains, it can make you head spin. And it is made by 1 dev. Really puts this game to shame.

I do see a few posts about some mods that are available, but dont much else about the subject.

When will modding be implemented?
This feature is planned for the latest stages of development when most of the features are ready. I believe the game should first show what it's trying to be, and only then let others change the way it works. Also this way mods won't break with every new update.

Ostriv, visualy looks weird.. comparing to Kingdom reborn or settlement survival, looking from my point of view

And, is it gridless ? and can we build on slopes ?

@Vj yes and yes. There are a couple places that have steep slopes along a bank of a river that you cant, but overall I can build on at 90% of map barring water (fishing docks and boat makers are ok on water))

Ah yes, also forgot to mention another EA game coming out later this year made by the developers of Grim Dawn. This one has the best graphics I have seen in a city builder.

They also do mod support so look to the future for some good games coming out.

Currently I am enough busy with Foundation and my training. But I will likely have a look in the future.
