In general you should promote all newcomers to serfs as that allows them to build a house in the village making them more efficient at their job as they now live closer to their workplace.
Note that in a future update newcomers will leave them village if not promoted to serfs within a certain timeframe
Speaking of Town Center. Are there plans to change the town center? Examples, I would like to set my Cathedral as the town center, or move it somehow. Can you speak to any plans/developments to implement this or if this won't happen due to any reason?
Yes the town centre will not remain as the boxes it currently is in the final version
Only issue is new jobs tend to be super far so not sure why they actually do at first, walking back and forth.
But after they become serfs that is fixed
This would be cool.
Or have a ‘hostel’ mechanic
