Gold Smelter vanished from build list

When I first saw the gold smelter on my build list it had a lock symbol over it. I eventually unlocked it and am at the point where I need to melt the gold ore I have mined however it is not showing up on the build list anymore. Any ideas?

First of all try searching for it in the search bar.

If it is not there then you probably lost a few villagers and the unlock condition is not met anymore. You need to promote a few villagers again and it will be unlocked once more.

i need help cause i need to build a monument but can't cause it need gold bars. I'm lost.

You need to unlock and build your Bailiff office. Hire a Bailff and then send them out prospecting. When they find gold ore you mine and smelt it into gold bars. You must own land within 3 sectors of the mineral deposit to be able to prospect it

Not for me. I have 200+ villagers, many, many commonors, but no Gold smelter.

Nevermind, I was not upgrading the correct people to commonor. Once I upgraded the correct ones, the next promotion round I could get villagers to citizens and the gold smelter became available.
