Farms have 4 seasons/states: sowing, growing, harvesting, resting
Not a bug. Just wait until the next sowing cycle.
While many of the 'painted' markers (harvest, replant, housing, etc) are shared among most other entities, fields are tied to only a single entity each, it's a bit counter-intuitive.
For animals, like sheep, for instance, adding more than 4-5 per farm is just for looks. The tender can only handle the first 4-5.
