Do serfs eat bread?
So I've got a nice thing going on the Fluvial map. Income is always positive, lots of housing, enough churches, over 400 bread and clothes in surplus and yet half of my villagers seem to be starving.
The only resource I'm severely lacking is berries. I thought that all villagers would eat all food if they can, but it seems like that my serfs only want to eat berries. This wouldn't be a problem was it not for the fact that I have one whole berry bush in my territory. Is it possible that this is the problem or could it be something else? With the way the happiness system works at the moment I can't see where the problem is. I think the penalty is fine and needs no changing but I would appreciate it if there was an easy way to go to the villagers that lack needs, like a need fulfilling heat map or something, instead of having to go through the whole villager list every time I'm lacking something.

First of all villagers have no food preference they all just eat what is available. But they eat it in stall order of appearance in the market monument. That means that serfs who have only 1 food need will always eat from the first food stall of a market until that is empty when they will move to the second and so on.

Clothes are only needed by commoners+ not Serfs, to see the current needs of your villagers simply click on them.

Ohh my, I've looked at it from completely the wrong way. It's not the serfs that are complaining it's the commoners because I have only one food source in supply. Thanks for showing me the errors of my way.
