sorry i think i just figured this out through reading through other posts, are both statues and stained glass on demand builds? so i would need to actually build a statue first or add stained glass to a church for them to start producing?

Yes, these things are only produced when they are needed on a construction site.
I just tried to add a "Mother and Child" stained glass to my church, but my Stained Glass Workshop still tells me "No Project" and the associated builder is always on her free time... What am I missing here?

The only reason I can think of is that either you don't have enough material to get her started or you just have to wait a little bit until she gets the order.
Hm... the material is all there and I am waiting already 2 in-game weeks for anything to happen :(

Maybe a blocked path to the constructionside, the workshop or the glass storage?
Otherwise you can try to destroy the workshop and rebuild it somewhere else or place the window somewhere else.
I tried everything now:

1. tearing the workshop down and rebuilding it: no change (you'd get a "I'm stuck" warning if the builder could not access the workshop anyways, right?)
2. stockpiling 100 glass, then "releasing it": no change
3. building other parts of the same church: works
4. building other things that require glass: works

Still, the Stained Glass Workshop says: No project.

I guess there's no stained glass for me :(

Okay, that's funny now. I just removed the Stained Glass from that one church, built a new Roman Church, added a front with the same Stained Glass thing to it and after a while I was rewarded with the "Hopes Shine Through" achievement. So the Stained Glass was crafted after all!

Maybe it was due to the height of that first church? Or that it contains too many parts?

I don't know. Here are 2 savegames, one with the problematic church and the latest one where the Stained Glass was added to the Roman Church:

Anyways: thanks for the support! The game is SO darn cute :)

Apparently there was a bug in the placement of the window, but this is not reproducible. After deleting the window, you can place it in the same place again and the glass workshop starts working.

You have to unlock the stained glass workshop in the clergy panel. You can open it with the star button in the upper right corner. The workshop unlock button can be found on the right side, below the monastery parts.

As I wrote: I just built another Roman Church and added Stained Glass to it. That worked. Maybe you could try that, too.
