No Farm Field Zone for Farmer
This warning is always up on the screen. I have a farm zone right next to my farm and all of my farmers are planting and harvesting just fine. Is this a known bug?

I think it's telling you they could use more space. The farmer shows up for work ready to plant but no field available. Adding to the existing field used to fix this in earlier versions.

No trees or debris on the ground? Maybe increase the zone size? Not entirely sure.

Increasing the zone size does the trick.
I had the same message and tried several ideas and a larger farm zone always worked for me. It's exactly as tolakram said, the farmers are ready for work and there's no more field area left. So increasing farm zone is the right solution, I guess.

bump ... same issue, but i have multiple wheat farms.
any way to tell which one it's for?
maybe i'm missing something.
there's an icon with the alert, you can click on it but nothing happens.
probably just an alpha thing/might do something later?

In the latest release you need to click each individual farm and paint it's zone. I don't think the warning is an alpha thing, I think it's really indicating some issue.

because the warning doesn't indicate which farm, i go add more farm zone to each farm - that's what i've been doing.

i was suggesting that because the devs spent the time to make the warning clickable (has a change state) even though it doesnt do anything, when the game is done with alpha, it might click to the specific farm that triggered the warning. maybe that's what the devs will do (and for other alerts)

I know at least the "stuck" warnings do what you're saying and I'm sure at some point all of them will do so. It can certainly be a little frustrating ... but that's EA/Alpha for you :)

Patch was just pushed to Steam including this:

Bug Fix: Wheat Farms "No Farming Zone" notification message no longer appear for no reason.

Apparently the warnings were false.

Is there any way to tell i.e. plan ahead how big a field you have to paint for 3 farmers?

I confess I am annoyed by not being able to plan ahead ... but then you also don't want to paint a way bigger field than what's necessary.

It is my understanding that the farmers will plant however bit a field you paint. It will just take longer to produce wheat. That said the recommendation is to do one circle at the largest brush size.

I have painted larger fields than that and still gotten the message reported by the OP. I guess that means it must be due to the reported bug in this specific incident.

Yes they just released the fix for the incorrect error messages.

so the No Farm Field Zone for Farmer alerts were false alarms up until now, OK, cant get mad ... alpha. and i didn't realize you can increase brush sizes when zoning - what keys? someone mentioned ideal field size is one circle at the largest brush size.

I don't know about "ideal" but it's the size I've seen recommended most frequently here and in the game's Discord.

After defining the field you have to click Start Production for the farming to begin.
