How to unlock walls?

In the game Menu, when I mouse over the "Build Walls" options, it states below.
#WALL_CONFIG.NO_WALLS_UNLOCKED

So how do you unlock walls?

You need to get splendour and unlock them from the three faction menus on the top middle of your screen
