How's everyone dealing with food consumption?
I feel like food consumption gets massivly out of hand when population starts to grow.

I have a village sitting around 160 population. I have 12 gatherers, 10 fishing lodges, 8 hunters, and 2 bakers (as well as three mills and two wheat fields). All buildings capable of multiple staff are fully staffed. By my count thats 65 workers, rougly a third of my population producing food. Despite that, food is almost always at zero and much of my population is unhappy because they lack food. It feels like to keep up, I'd need half my population dedicated to food resources, which doesn't feel realistic. With one citiszen providing enough food for two, plus the resources required with warehouses and markets to distribute, it leaves little reasources to do almost anything else.

I don't seem to have this problem early game. I feel like the farther things move along, the only resource I can focus on is food and I'm constantly trying to buy up land for places to put
gatherers and hunters, and lining every shore with fishing huts, which if nothing else looks silly. Has anyone else experiences food bringing the game to a hault when population gets into the 100's? Any tips to curb this? Or is it just the way the game is right now?

Something i realized is that distance to food and shelter makes a difference in the production volumes as well.

It seems to me that workers will prioritize their needs first, then comes work time.

yep I multiplied my wheat production just by moving around the workers and creating a small farming village in the area.

I try to group together things where possible. This doesn't really work for berries and hunting, but with finshing and bread I keep everything required to produce, store, and sell those items in the same spot. But it seems like the issue of how far they have to travel also applies to distrobution. If all my bread is being produced in one spot, it doesn't seem to make its way to other areas that need food.

if you do a bit of overproduction and have enough storehouses in the area of the target market they will eventually stock up.
Depending on distance you have to have enough transporters stocking up to do that.
In particular, I would distribute one product e.g. bread over multiple storehouses instead of multiple slots in one, because a transporter of a storehouse can pick just a limited amount of it over time.

Can anyone confirm that market stalls workers can pickup goods at Warehouses/Storagehouses? And if so, does it depend on the settings in the storehouse?

That's what I do, just keep building keeps. Building them taller also adds splendor, just make sure you have enough lumber.
