Understanding the Warehouse
I'm not sure that I'm understanding all the proper uses for the Warehouse and therefor not utilizing it properly. If I stock items in the Warehouse, does it depleat my useable stocks within my city? Also, what are the differences between the Refuse, Accept, Stock Maximum, and Get Rid Of buttons? How do they differ from each other, and how can they best be used in stocking and trading?

Sorry if these seem like dumb or obvious questions; I'm getting very happily addicted to this game so far, but my experience with city builder games in general is fairly limited. Thanks for any tips or explanations!

I'm 6 hours into my game and I barely understand it either. All I know is that the resource menu that you can pop down is separate and to do any trading outside market stalls you need products put in warehouses.

Tbh i think most of the buttons are buggy so besides refuse, which i assume means to refuse the 1 type of product to prevent a stoage overload of one particular material, i have no idea what-so-ever. I hope they fix this soon.

Not at all a dumb question. The buttons seem very inconsistent, but it is an early beta so I can't be mad.

There is a maximum storage amount for each `window` within the warehouse, which is 50 giving a total of 200 items. As for trading you need to click on a said `window` and select item to trade , then go to the trade menu, top right of screen, and set trade condition buy/sell and then select the accept arrow in the warehouse. Ofc, make sure that you have traders assigned to warehouse in the first place. Also bear in mind that when you view the town trade menu it`s set for what the town buys and sells ,NOT what you buy and sell. ( Davenport sells tools / bread / fish. Buys berries / polished stone / planks). Hope this makes some kind of sense - took me a while to figure it out!

I wish the warhouse could be extended somehow. I dont really want to build 50 warehouses to trade stuff.

@dbocc,I figured so much out. Thanks for confirming. Can the slot stay on "Accept" for it to sell to another town. I tried all combinations "Refuse/Accept/Maximize/Empty" in order to get the trader to buy my wool for instance. Even tho the neigboring town say it buys 1 wool for 5 gold, it never does. My stockpiles are now 50 wool in 3 slots...And yes I have it set to sell all above 0 in the trading dialogue.

Does this imply that my neigbor does not have enough gold, or it just buys randomly (so far never) or is there a bug? I could also be doing the whole thing wrongly, but since I trade berries, planks and polished stones without problem, I take it the information about claimed wool need from my neighbor is just misinformation/spam ;)

@Shadow Draxis: Yepp, a modular warehouse would be good indeed.

Fantastic game this, so organic and immersive!
Will be a pleasure following further development!

Cheers all

@james

Have you unlocked the trade route in the trade menu?

If so with the resource being collected in a warehouse, open trade menu click on the second tab which lists the goods.

Set a minimum stock level e.g. say 10 then there are a set of buttons between the good & level, one of which is sell stock over this amount, the other is buy to this amount and the third selected by default is do not trade
