Hello,
The monks have the same needs like serfs... So , when you Built a monastery , you must put very near or inside a small village with : a well , a market and a church .. a grenary in case of .
After you will see the happiness come back !!
The monastery is (to me !)the more long and complicate to make , So don't try to close it , just calculate the number you are needing ( generally 4 apiaries and 4 herbalists...but 2 more if you want the 10 for unlocking the monument)and built it with only with this number of rooms
Herbalists may have troubles if you don't put them correctly around ..
never got troubles with the apiaries.
