Is production broken?
why is it that gatherers a fisherman only produce 1 units at a time? i have dozens of gatherers and fisherman they all have housing they all have shops they all have water they all have cloths but food supplies are never producing enough ....the amount gathered harvested or produced really needs to be reworked as it seems very broken. yes they all have plenty of churches all needs are met but no matter how many food or goods resource chains i set up nothing seems to ever meet demand and if it wasnt for mods that allow to add 1000 of everything the whole system would collapse. Also why dont people leave when they are unhappy?

Production really is an issue nothing is balanced correctly. for example sheep farms produce 3 wool before they go off to do other things there is never enough of anything to keep up with demand. a shop keeper collects 50 units to sell a cloths maker produces 10 units then goes off to do other things a weaver does the same ...the whole system MUST be re-balanced production should always be able to out strip demand but i have play this game now hundreds of hrs and started fresh many time trying different strategies and once you get to a point of having 150 + people there is no way to produce enough to keep factories producing enough to keep shops full...Also there need to be a revamp on the collection i have read so many threads of people say that transporters travel across maps to collect this is just broken...They should always collect from the nearest supplier and that supplier should operate and produce withing a range to ensure supply. C'mon guys fix these issues...Its just totally Broken!!!!!!!

The problems you described were the problems I had during my first 30 hours gameplay when I was still trying to figure out everything. I think you probably promoted your villagers to higher levels as many and as soon as you can, newcomer and serf need 1 food each, and commoner needs 2 food, not sure about citizen (probably 2 or 3).

I started over again for the 4th time and I'm at about 200 villagers with only 20 commoners 0 citizen right now, I have about 4000+ gold, 4 food stalls, 4 goods stalls and everything is fine. I did an experiment yesterday, I let my village run at 3x speed and I went AFK, when I returned I had 10000+ gold and lots of villagers without any job and the happiness was still 97. (but showing 40 villagers lack housing), so it's either you don't have enough production buildings to support your villagers, you leveled up your villagers too fast or there's something wrong with the city layout.

EDIT: Also something important I learned from the mistakes I made before, it's better to promote villagers to the same level if they are working at the same place or living in the same house, because if you only promoted 1 villager, the other 5 villagers who live in the same house have to move out, commoners don't live with serfs. for your reference! :)

well my current city is almost 1.1k now, i have absolutely no lacking messages at all, so maybe its not the game thats the problem. The more u promote the more u need to provide.

Hey guys thank you for your advice...i do seem to promote everyone as soon as the pop up comes at the end of the month. So maybe it is the issue. I also havent be paying attention to the class of residents in each house. I do think its probably these issues however there are some things that should be tweaked by devs and thats where transporters collect goods from and how much is produced from factories as there is some in-balance. A gatherer or someone in a production role should actually work for longer therefore they would actually produce more. The day should go through periods of night and day...then we could have different types of stalls and businesses that could be open at night and during the day. A tavern would be much more likely to be busy at night for ex. People should only go and fill their needs after the days work is done. But thank you for your advice ill start again and see how it changes ...

the way it works is based on real time so a day and a night cycle will never work as its based on days in a week. if there is a day/night cycle per day the workers will never do much work at all. also, now this is just an example my times may not be exact, lets start with a serf in this example, serf works for 30 secs at game speed 1, a commoner will work 25 secs as he needs more time to fullfill needs, citizen works 20 secs as he needs even more time. with this in mind keeping your gathers as serfs is best as they do work for longer.

This is 1 reason to not promote all every promotion screen. more work from serfs, more goold from commoners and above but less work.

As others have said, the production is not broken and is quite capable of supplying towns with 1000 people. Of course, this becomes more difficult the more high-ranking villagers you have.
Even in the real Middle Ages the farmers came from the lower classes of the population.

Be also said that the ratios are not always 1 to 1. A mill can handle more than just the grain from a single farm and can also produce more than enough flour for several bakers.

The game will get a night, but this is purely visual and also optional. A real daily routine with people sleeping a third of the day is not planned.
However, it was announced with the release of the tavern that in the future the tavern will get even more (not yet named) functions.

In general there will always be balancing changes. The views of the players will be taken seriously. Before the last update there was for example a preview version to get feedback before the full update was released.
