The player should have the freedom to play how they wish. If a player wants to overlap buildings to allow for a medieval style city then they should be able to do so. Adding collision would prevent this creativity.
It's aesthetically pleasing to have this kind of creative freedom, something that nearly all other city builders don't give the player the ability to do. No collision allows you to place things exactly where you want to get the look you are going for.
If you don't like it, go freaking wild and place things as far away from each other as you want, this isn't a real problem :/
Freedom to be unable to build roads that make sense. Oh I like the foot paths but cities should be planned not just be higgidly piggidly.
Houses that are random rather than building a proper town. Sure the player puts down a residential area but the houses go up hodge podge.
Rules exist or at least should exist to be able to keep order. Chaos is not creative.
Mozart followed musical rules and did not just create extrodinary music by being chaotic.
Real life can interrupt game play causing accidents that are not always obvious.
Adding building collision however would take away the freedom to play how they like for a lot of other people.
Don't make others suffer for your own lack of discipline.
I agree with that.
Custom buildings is what is great about the game. Yet we can not customize housing and place them where we want.
This also leads to the AI placing houses in really stupid locations within the area simply because it follows desirability weight too much.
then I discovered I could place 100000000 cedar tree on top on the mine so I could nagate the red area that prevent villager to build thier house close to thier job, then I discovered I could do that with every othere builing in the game to save space and cheat my way to victory. then the game became dull and uninteresting for 20 more hours I goofed around and stacked everything, I know you can do nice building with it and that we'll probably be able to share them, but it should only be allowed in an "Creative mode" or in a "sand box' mode and not in the ' main game". then I totally lost interest in the game and then I when to check on the game road map, and saw there was not even a plan to add collision. and I came here to ask
then ash came here with the copy paste of what the game truly is.
that very important information thats not even mantioned 1 time on the store page "essentially a sandbox game"
then my reaction was :'( nice I got scam by a poor store page description again.
Not using a cheat or an exploit is a personal self restraint issue.
About the collision or not: when the game will be released (one day?) I think it would be possible to code a mod "no collision"
Refund so !
If you dont want to stack up buildings dont do it. you can jump off a rooftop, why dont you do it? I believe because you still have a little brain left?
I find it a nice feature that you can overlap buildings because you are able to build the same buildings but still have them look a bit different because you overlap them.
Also to make everything work, you have to make sure you dont block entrances.. otherwise it wont work anyway. So whats your deal? If you cant handle that. go play pokemon go
You shouldn't overlap buildings, although it is possible to do so. Sure as hell you will block all the entrances if the buildings overlap.
This!
