How do you get tools?

Must be so simple but can't work it out.

open the trade menu from the top right button. open trade with the first neigbor. You need a manned storeroom. you can buy tools for 30 gold per tool. A merchant wonders through town every week or so and stops at the storeroom.

To provide some more information on what @Warhome already correctly pointed out. The only way to obtain tools atm is via trading. To start trading you need to follow this procedure:

1) Unlock the trading route

2) Once the trading route is unlocked and the second tab in the trading window is active you need to set up how many tools you want to buy and switch the keyword from NO_TRADE to BUY by clicking on it. (You can also set up some other products to SELL for when the trader comes). Please note that you can only buy or sell what the neighbouring village wants to sell or buy, for instance if they don't want wheat you cannot sell it to them.

3) Build a warehouse and set the products that you want to trade to ALLOWED.

4) Wait for the trader to come by, he takes some time so just be patient

Ok thanks both, I had done the trading route early on but I don't believe I had a warehouse up for long before my game crashed! So will give the warehouse a go again.
