Market can't get berries from the same granary it gets fish and bread from ...
The title says it all ... I have 200+ berries in my granary, my people are starving and leaving because my market guy says he he can't locate the berries in the granary ... yet put fish in that same granary and switch him over to sell fish, and he sells the hell out of em.

So he can get the fish out of the granary, and they keep adding berries to the granary ... why can't he get them to sell them at the market?

Make sure that all entrances to the granary (where the little green arrows were when you sited it) are unblocked. Berries are kept in one quarter, fish in another. It looks like he can't get at the berry entrance. There may be a building very close to the granary blocking that entrance.

As an experiment you might try changing which quarter of the granary berries are in. I know this means you'll probably lose its existing stock of berries, but it's just an experiment and you can go back to a previous save once you know for sure.

Oh, and don't try to keep berries in two quarters because the Market Trader will always go to the first quarter first and if that's blocked might not try the other one.

Thanks Pesky ... it wasn't that ... I put different goods in different slots, the merchants were able to get them and sell them no matter what granary slot I put them in. The game just wouldn't recognize the berries. With only the berries the merchants had notes in their placards that said,

"<Merchant Name> could not find resources in Granary or Warehouse. Market_Wood_Food_Table_Part"

Yet they could retrieve and sell fish and bread no matter what granary slot I put them in.

And the trader guy had no problems seeing the berries to buy.

And the missions to support the King, Church, People saw the berries to complete those quests.

It eventually killed my game ... my people were starving so I bought the bread and fish, but that spiraled me out of control and my entire community began collapsing with people leaving.

I tried to show you images of the merchant placard and the granary, but STEAM keeps removing the link.

Well, I know what problem was ... I just didn't get a picture of it to prove it. My granary was messed up. In the granary I farted around with all afternoon ... the first slot was slot 0 ... my slots were slots 0-3.

I just started a new game with my Sunday morning coffee ... and the slots in my newly built granary are 1-4. And it appears to be working perfectly.

So I dunno why or how, but my game was &^%$#$ up yesterday.

Thanks Pesky.

Glad you sorted it out. Seems to have been a bug. Hope you get a bug-free game now.

I’ve just started having a similar problem on my most recent village.
Previous was 400+ and always in the 90s happiness, but instead of incorporating granarys into the infrastructure, I started over.

I’ve had 0 problems, up over 200 people, survived the first bad weather without a problem, dropped happiness into the 70s but rebounded quickly.

Now, Seemingly out of the blue, I started getting spammed with messages of tenders not being able to find resources in granary. There are resources there. Nothing new has been built around them from the time things were running smoothly.
And the food shortage begins.

Im going to try a delete/rebuild the granarys to see if it resets the market tenders ability to retrieve some how.

Remember to turn STOCKPILE OFF. Stockpile is next to your gold. I had the same problem and it was that I forgot to turn off stockpile after doing a quest to deliver 30 berries. Your resources will be highlighted yellow if they are stockpiled and your villagers or market tenders will not be able to use them!

Granaries also have a very large footprint, its best to leave at least 2 footpath widths free space all the way around the granary. This has been clearly explained in the patch notes of the time but so many players cram other buildings in close to their granary, then complain about their poor design.
