A new player question...
I have this game and I try to play with gamepad as I don't need the steering wheel at all. Can you tell me the gamepad setup for assists and sensitivities? Also what is the best track to begin practicing with and which car class to use?

Turn off the assist and enable manual gearbox, shift with buttons.

FWD are good to start learning because they're slow and rather small, AWD is more polyvalent but the cars are much faster, RWD is not for beginners.
Use Free Roam and Time Trial options to get a feel of your cars.
Thanks for the advice, tried the Finland track with VW Golf GTI V16, it really improves experience. Guess these assists really hold me back.

That kind of game isn't designed with assists in mind, assists are a second layer that try to "fix" your driving faults but as a result they make everything more vague and even go against advanced manoeuvers.
What is the most suggested track location for beginners? I only know Finland and Spain.

I'm not sure what's the easiest, perhaps New England because the road is wide and has good visibility. Watch out for unseen rocks in the tall grass if you're going off the path though.
Every country is different.

So I tried Finland, Spain, Germany and Poland. Could try USA, yeah, we'll see. By the way, should I set ABS to minimum or disable it as well?

Hi I just bought this game and I've found this dude, check it out:

So yeah I can see that controls are different despite the game requires you to have the steering wheel for smooth turns.
I have reduced the response curve of the control stick in the Steam controller settings from 200 to 100.
This may help you to drive more smothly.
Well I have Xbox wireless controller instead of Steam controller.
I also have one, this works with almost all controllers.

This is my gamepad settings. You can try & see if the settings are comfortable for you to use controlling the car. After changing the settings make sure to go to the "Input Reporting" & see that the numbers don't jump around to much when testing your gamepad. If you can make it up & down smoothly then you're done.

As for the best locations for beginner, i recommend the New England USA. The roads are wide & there's alot of hairpin to practice your handbrake skill & the Scandinavian flick. Just be cautious of the hidden rocks & tree trunks in the bushes on the side of the road.

Thanks for the advice, I have sensitivity on 100 and linearity to 3 to drive more aggressively.

Honestly from my own experience theres no such thing as a best car class, just whichever you're most comfortable with, I personally prefer mid power'd all wheel drive cars (anything with 200-300hp) as they're fun but controllable.

If I were to pre-warn you of anything, GO VERY SLOW on Argentina, those courses can kill easily.

Germany is good for getting used to tarmac and high traction areas,

In the end its mostly personal preference

I don't know how new to rally games or if its just this one you are, but it always pays to be far more cautious over fast, one wrong move can wreck the whole thing.
(I still do this far too often)
