Make all DLCs free already!
I enjoy playing this game, but I'll not pay 2-4 dollars more for a new map. I know the game is cheap (when on sale) but it's also relatively small. So, I will not spend more money on this game. I will only continue to play it if DLCs become free and I can try the new challenges that require them.

Game has been end of life for ages now......................

I wouldn't think that will ever happen.

In fact, one should note, most racing games eventually are removed from being for sale due to how licensing works with car companies. Publishers are usually only allowed to sell a game for a certain number of years before they have to either stop selling it, or pay to license the cars again.
For most racing games paying for the license again is not in the cards because it would cost more for that than what they will ever make on that game again.
Even Gran Turismo games get delisted.

The DR2 player-base (on Steam) is double that of the newly released WRC24. Hopefully it wont be delisted any time soon. I always welcome cheap DLC's though - the more who can play and enjoy rally games, the merrier! Happy holidays rally-gamers!

DLC is cheaper than a pizza. Better get it before it gets delisted like the other codmasters games.

I think the game is too small without the DLCs already. That's why it doesn't cost much.

But it's not possible that the game costs now less than a DLC, which contains just 1 map. The game comes with several maps, so why should it cost less than a DLC that contains only 1 map? It makes no sense. At least, they could make these DLCs a lot cheaper and ideally just free. I'd just include most of them in the base game. It's not that they will make a lot of money from this game at this point. If they want players like me to stick around, they should make these DLCs available, so that we are happy and maybe buy the next Dirt Rally 3.0, if it ever comes out.

it sucks I have to rebuy the base game to get the dlc packed in game.

Clearly, people that already own the game should not need to buy the game again to get the DLC, but should get it for free. There are other games where the developers decided to integrate, for free, more content in a single game, which was separate and not free.

@fuel, Dirt Rally 3 (wrc24) has been out for over a year and now entering year 2. It is still not better than DR2, so hopefully DR2 will linger. There will not be any more additions to DR2 since all efforts will be towards elevating WRC24. And wrc24 really need a big effort to come up to the standards of DR2.

Why would they make DLC's free for a game that is more popular than the newly released tile?

Wait for the GOTY discount. Codemasters are pretty accommodating.

There is no such thing as "end of life" for a video game unless it is a "Live Service" game.

That's a mindset that is harmful to gaming and only benefits unscrupulous developers who want their games to "die" after a year or two so you can forget about them and throw Top Dollar at their latest Shiny New Thing.

That's up to you. All that matters is whether you believe a product is worth the asking price. If you like the game enough and think that a new map is worth the price of a coffee you'll pay it. If you don't, you won't.

I'm the biggest penny pincher alive, but you've got to be realistic and not get caught up on principles when those principles are effectively moot.
