If anything, I'd say modern games are less likely to come with split-screen than games of the past.

But no, no split-screen in DR2. Competing is all online only I'm afraid. WRC 8 and 9 have it though, so you might be interested in those.

TO EXPENSIVE this one is 5$. say, how hard is to add split screen to racing game?
that 5$ is a promotional discount - and it is not even the full game. So you did not like it because that "racing game" does not offer split-screen. Nothing wrong with you giving this sim-game a pass because it does not fit your criteria for "(a) racing game".

What's the point of split screen in a rally game?

Split screen means you can play with pals from a couch, like you do with a playstation or xbox: more fun. And I would like to know how to play with a dual screen as well. :car:

Circuit racing -- sure, but rally?.. Though in RBR I was using my friend as an assistant co-driver, but it surely didn't require a splitscreen.

Started playing rally games with 'Network Q RAC Rally'. And to this day I didn't see a single one where you could meet another car on stage -- which is perfectly in line with rally racing reality.

So split screen is the only kind of multiplayer that suits you or what? Actually, it's great DR2 doesn't feature split-screen if it does mean less annoying fcks like you around.

Even if you could see a friend in split-screen, for a rally stage it wouldn't really tell you much as you wouldn't know whether they're doing a better time than you or not. And how would the system start you off at the exact same time when rally stages are individual time trials? At best you'd both have to hold down the handbrake to get the countdown started at the same time. I remember split screen racing being for mass start events like rally cross, and for that you can race friends, and you each have your own screen. If you want to race a friend in the same room, they need to bring their gaming laptop round to yours so you can race each other at rally cross.

agree, but in old games like CMR2.0 you can set namber of players and everyone was going one after another all rally or even all season... now in this way you can only do time trials :/

The first version(s?) of CMR on the PS1 had split screen. But apart from rallycross, I can't see why anyone would think it should be in a game like Dirt Rally - maybe for the main Dirt series. I think you've missed the point of the Dirt Rally series.
