How to boot VR correctly with controls working?
Hi. I am new to the PC version of this game, have played the ps4 version for months. I am trying to figure out how to get my VR PC to work with this game.

Headset is an Oculus Quest 1, I usually play through Virtual Desktop for Audica and Redout. I have a PS4 controller paired with my desktop, it works great in Redout VR and when playing Dirt 2 flat screen the game responds fine as well.

What is the intended way to launch this game and have my PS4 controller work while also having the VR view?

If possible, could someone else share what the game is supposed to look like when working in VR mode? I have not seen it work on my system, so I do not know if the flat screen style menus are the game breaking or at what point it is supposed to swap to head camera mode.

Ways to launch I have tried so far and results of doing so:

1. Use Virtual Desktop to launch into Steam VR Mode > Pick Dirt 2

Result: Dirt 2 launches in what appears to be a flat "wide tv" mode for VR. Runs menu this way and once in game also is in this camera view where the game is displayed as a screen in front of me. Game itself behaves just like flat screen mode, though seems to have the VR comfort settings in the menu. Couldn't figure out how to get the camera to actually be in the car, as picking rally and entering a race just leaves me in this strange menu mode. (I assume what is happening here is the game menu is supposed to show like that and then Dirt 2 never stops or swaps to "in the car" mode.

2. Use Virtual Desktop to access my desktop remotely, with steam in flat PC mode. I get launch options when pressing play on Dirt 2. Launch in Steam VR mode.

Result: Dirt 2 launches and won't respond to the PS4 controller at all. It seems to be running but couldn't be tested further as there is no input to get past the press start screen.

3. Same as 2 but I select Launch Oculus version instead.

Result: Game Launches but just says no headset detected. Eventually will get stuck playing the video intro and won't respond at all to any controller input. Have to force close. (Yes, I tried with the oculus controller buttons too, nothing was working at all.)

4. Scrap Virtual Desktop entirely. Instead use Link Cable > Rift Link Option from Oculus Headset > Use desktop access to open steam in Flat Mode > Select "Oculus VR" mode and press play.

Result: Game launches but says NO HEADSET DETECTED. No controls, cannot get past startup screen to test in game cameras. Rift store doesn't seem to see I own Dirt 2 (which I think is normal since I own the Steam version instead) Other rift games I tested after closing dirt 2 work fine and see the oculus and oculus controller. In addition, the PS4 controller is paired correctly as I could also play Redout over Link Cable with it.

I'm currently at a bit of a loss since the game won't function besides in flat screen mode. What launching method am I expected to do to use the "Rift/Oculus" support for this game?

I gather from the store tags the Oculus Touch controllers will not function. I am fine with that, as a PS4 player I am already practiced with the PS4 controller anyway. But it seems the Rift/Oculus mode of the game is ignoring steam's controller support and doesn't see the PS4 controller(or any controller for that matter).
