Game & Difficulty Reset
When you very first start the game you were able to set the difficulty level ( default was 70).
I kept it at 70 but would like to reboot the game and change it to around the 50 mark.

Is it possible to wipe the game and re-install to reset this without Racenet loading everything back up for you?
I've tried the in game profile reset for career etc. but keeping cars/credits and options settings, but this doesn't work?
I haven't tried the full reset inc. options/credits in case this still doesn't work.

Has anyone managed to change the startup difficulty after an initial install?

Are you talking about the career difficulty?
This depends on the championship level you're at the moment (open/clubman/pro/etc.).
The higher you are, the faster are your opponents.
But the ai times are bugged, some car classes are though af.
In any other gamemode against the ai you can choose your difficulty in the bottom right under championship options.

Yes I would like to know If I can do a reset to make Career mode a little easier?
I know you can do this in Historic Mode / Custom mode etc. but I would like to redo the startup settings to make Career mode easier.
I wondered if anyone has managed to do it? I've seen reports that everything is stored on Racenet so its difficult to do a complete start from the beginning.

Has anyone been able to do this?

The 70 difficulty level was for the A.I in Freeplay.
Career difficulty is based on what Championship you are in. If you want to start career again just abandon championship & it will go back down.

No, when you abandon it you stay on that level.
You have to retire every rally.

The problem is I've never been able to move past "Open" level in Career mode!! so dropping back from "Club" level hasn't been an option.

I was interested in Career mode as it gave you a game with some sort of progression!

Historic / Custom and Trial mode are great but there isn't any level of achievement through Credits or Car Updates / Unlocks.

Anyone any idea of how to find the game within the game until Career Mode becomes flexible?

In that case, make sure to try another class before giving up.

You can still make money and upgrades even if you don't win all your events, so its still progression. Open AI times are very forgiving tho. Try a different car. Not the Group B obviously, the 2000cc Citreon C4 is really easy to drive. What class have you been struggling with?

I understand that DiRT is a simulator so therefore it doesn't make sense to have a difficulty setting but it is seriously demotivating to hit pro and come 2nd to last or last every. single. race...All I want is to finish off all of the career and never touch it again. :(

(Never touch career again, would definitely still play the game though lol)

It has nothing to do with simulation if the ai times ar fast as time trial times by some aliens.
For me, a standard difficulty slope in a games is : easy>normal>hard>multiplayer, or whatever the game calls its difficulty levels.
It's bugged...h2 fwd are nearly impossible in elite...don't want to know how the ai times are on master difficulty.
