This looks more realistic...
looking at the way the car reacts over surfaces and moves - and i wasnt a massive fan of SLRE - this looks miles more realistic than both DR games.

None of that centre pivot BS here. !

shame about the issues that had! but slre looks closer to the so called KING?!

And in dr we have this looks almost arcade where is the suspension movement, no wonder we have F. A feeling on tarmac, car looks rigid as a rock.

Also, I don't know what you mean by a "centre pivot". All solid objects rotate around a single point, which is called a center of mass.

Vehicles are not solid objects and thus do not have equally distributed weight. Center of mass of a front engine vehicle would be located further forward where as a rear engine vehicles center of mass would fall more towards the back. DR fails to calculate physics in this regard as all vehicles tend to rotate on an imaginary point located dead center of the vehicle.

can hardly feel any ffb through video alas; Xsara was a nice experience; thank you indeed.

Shame the Sebastien Loeb Rally Demo has been removed.

Just gotta work out what RFPE means.

Seems like SLRE suffers from the same issue as Dirt Rally 2.0, only it's reversed. Tarmac handling is really good and gravel handling is really bad. Also, I don't know what you mean by a "centre pivot". All solid objects rotate around a single point, which is called a center of mass.

Rpfe was a physics mod.

Regarding the pivot in Dr games the cars look odd as if the car turns on the pivot before the wheels actually turn. As if none of the movement is connected to anything physical in the car.

Nfs shift and early racerooms cars had this if I remember. Think it was down to the physics making unnatural movement because they've got in an impossible position, which rally cars are always in..

Thanks for that Loki-D I really wasn't aware of the mod but I do understand the central pivot point problems with some racing games and how it affects the physics and also (in games) the views etc.

I have to say, well I don't, but I do feel compelled to say after having just viewed some youtube vids of the Sébastien Loeb EVO game that is does lacks many of the qualities that more modern Rally Games do, like those by CM (all the utter crap not withstanding)

I hope it does well but I personally would suggest the game has a long way to go and yet I do think it deserves all the best.

The bad news is it's a Milestone game which just ruins it all before it even has a chance...:steamfacepalm:

Oh SLRE is dead as and although may look physically better, as a title it doesn't touch dr2 in the slightest. I was just showing some replays of it, for me the cars have the weight and movement I see in real life.

Whereas dr the cars just turn on exit weirdly they way the car straightens up, doesn't look like the front tyres are steering the Direction...

Thanks Loki-D :-)

Personally while I do like to learn and understand various aspects of gaming, especially racing games, I do tend to not let these issues take first place priority to my personal 'fun factor' when playing a game.

Thanks for your conversation :-)
hmm, i am a big fan of SLRE, thought it was a good game badly supported by the devs......

just on the DR(1&2) front with the slightly weird movement of the cars, try this.... do a stage on germany, watch the replay, observe the crab, then go to service and LOCK all the diffs up(4WD cars), drive the stage again and watch the replay........ the crab will be almost gone! or maybe its just my drunk eyes hahahahahaa ;)

Yeah the cars totally don't suffer with understeer if they're too heavy at the front and the Porsche doesn't pivot on it's ass like crazy.
Do you even play this game?

100% agree. DR2.0 is far better.

damn that SLRE with RFPE video looks amazing, tarmac physics look great, even gives me an assetto corsa vibe.

The crab lol.

I am not a fan of SLR, but I think its tarmac physics is much more realistic.
