you can do custom championships, Time trials, Historic championship and FIA Rallycross championship offline. Just not the career mode and online events.

yeah, you can access all content in singleplayer "freeplay" mode, just not the "career" mode that lets you race in community events.

Just chimed in to say that career here is not a big deal, regardless of being online/offline.

Freeplay has more "character" inside and it is offline too. No purchasing anything in offline. You want to buy a car? Well, you need to be connected to Racenet servers first. The career section is not the fundamental game option here.

Career mode is the main way to play these games. That's why CM targeted it with their awful always-online DRM that has caused DR2.0 to bomb worse than DR4.

Just a heads up op: The people who are telling you that you cant play much offline dont own the game. All of the people in this thread that own the game are saying that you have access to all of the content except career mode offline (including me). The only thing you wont be able to do is buy "your own" cars and race them in career. But all of the cars and stages are available in custom mode, time trial, FIA WRX, and Historic championship.

I wouldnt base your decision off of advice from others that dont own even own the game.
