Dirt Rally 2.0 Telemetry Tool + In-game customizable dashboard
Here`s first beta release of my Dirt Rally 2.0 Dashboard/Telemetry tool. It is now completely resizable and can be made to run on top of game window. To do so, you need to enable Window (Borderless) mode in DR2 and in Dashboard settings enable Topmost setting (and transparent if you want better immersion. Check the video for demo.

The Dashboard/Telemetry resets itself automatically at beginning of each stage. If you want to see the live data and analyze your run, just record your run (both screens, game and dashboard) and you`ll see exactly how your suspension works at each bump.

If you`d like to see something specific being displayed, I`d be happy to throw it in.

Cool! I was looking for something like this also!

Can you display tyre temperature?
SaxonRaider Mar 16, 2019 @ 5:01am
Suspension travel so we can see how often the suspension is bottoming out and adjust the springs and ride height respectively. Also if it shows it, the wheel rotation speed for all four wheels so we can see the grip levels each wheel has for anti roll bar settings toe etc.

with rally I guess it could be beneficial to know how often and severe the car is bottoming out on it's underbelly (=beaching itself) -- as not all roads are actually flat. Of course I have not yet broken my virtual oilpan sin DR2.0. Should that be a thing this becomes even more critical. But moreso this would indicate momentary loss of steering-control as to give us an idea wether or not we should compromise suspension travel to allow for better controll over rough terrain.

But first of all: I think you are doing something awesome, something I wish was part of the game itself.
Could you also record tyre-wear at the finish-line, as I would love to know how far I have worn down the tyres after reaching the final finish of an event -- and this bloody game isn't telling me nothin' about it, sadly ...

Anyway: Great idea!

Would you share your tool on github? Then maybe some more people could contribute features, and you don't have to do all the coding alone.

I totally agree with Lenman on this!

A must-have feature would be the possibility to record the data we want and plot them afterwards. Depending on the data displayed, there could be visual cues to highlight what is possibly wrong with the car (i.e: suspension travel clipping, brake temp, etc.)

Also, are the telemetry datas available during replays? If yes, that would be awesome to have a visual footage that correlates with the data.

I love you for doing this ♥
as it is RN it is already pretty awesome, pls add min-max marks that will be pushed by the springs and stay in position + some sideways forces for tyres.
Would it be possible to have the telemetry on secondary screen while the game would be in true fullscreen?
Will this show data in replays? Cos I cant watch dem values while driving :)

+if it can be displayed on secondary screen it could get some sexy graphs for suspension travel, speed, g forces... separate graphs on the same time scale or maybe some graphs bundled (like all springs in one graph with different color of the lines)

Here`s an updated version.
It is no longer overlaying the window, but is intended to be run on a second monitor.
I use small monitor as dashboard, tool is made for resolution 1024x600.

Let me know in comments what else you`d like to see in telemetry.
I`m trying to do something with vector data, tho not sure what would be useful to see/display.

That's realy nice.
Is it possible to show this on a special Monitor ? Like the Options in Simhub ?
Could you make a Dashboard Version for Simhub ?

Keep your good work going. Hope to see this for all :)
G™ May 2, 2019 @ 6:46am
It’s not meant for special monitor as Simhub has. It is standalone application you can run.

I’ll probably release it to beta testing soon if there is interest.
JakeURb8ty May 2, 2019 @ 8:35am
oh there's interest, it helps getting a visual representation to what one thinks they feel via the ffb.

wow men this is awesome, really great job.

Hey, very nice tool. But how to download?
G™ May 8, 2019 @ 5:05pm
I`ve uploaded it to RaceDepartment website.
Here`s link: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/dirt-rally-2-0-dashboard-telemetry-tool.26703/

Please be aware that it is still in Alpha state so expect bugs, quirks and other happy moments. :)
