Vive /VIVE Pro, 2080ti, VR settings.
After toying with settings for 3 hours

I am getting under 11.1ms with ZERO skipped frames. Using the VIVE Pro at a Global resolution in Steam VR of 100 and 100 Super Sample. Game is buttery smooth, and looks pretty good. I also adjusted the game to run in windowed and to display in 1280x720, modified in the Dirt 2.0 documents Hardware config file. Found in the "My Documents" files.

Using a 2080ti at 2115mhz and RAM at 14900mhz (According to GPU Tweak II).

These are the following ingame settings.

Multisampling - 8xMSAA
Anistropic Filtering - 16x

Quality preset - Custom
Shader Detail - High
Texture Detail - High
Reflections - Medium
Screen Space Reflections - Replay Mode
Shadows - Medium
Night Lighting - Medium
Ambeint Occlusion - Medium
Advanced Ambeint Occlusion - Off
Particles - Ultra
Advanced Blending - On
Weather - Low
Crowd - Off
Cloth - High
Mirrors - Medium
Vehicle Details - Ultra
Track - Medium
Object - Medium
Tress - Medium
Ground Cover - Medium
Skid Mark's - On
God Ray's - On
Chromatic Aberration - On
Bloom - On
Light Streeks - On
Lens Dust - On

Please give this a try, and let me know what your experience is.

For players with GPU's and HMD's not this high (Resolution in HMD), start with these settings and adjust the options that are set on high down to medium if needed one at a time.

Just did my dailies all in VR. And it felt so awesome. Seat belted in, with Transducers in VR, with a direct drive wheel. Just missing motion for an incredible immersive experience.

If CM can optimize the game a bit, to allow me to sharpen up the image with a bit more super sampling. I'll be extremely happy.

That looks the way it should, people with personal preferences can get more out of it turning off lens dust, god rays and advanced blending. The basics are there keep the stuff you actually need like track, texture detail and possibly car detail on high, btw. going to ultra doesn't look good in CV1 which handles bigger thicker lines better than triple A sharpness. Is this better with Vive pro? Do you get good looking graphics with higher settings?

Yes, very slightly. But it is noticeable. I tested my VIVE and Vive Pro, same settings. Of course the standard VIVE can be super sampled a bit higher, but it doesn't compensate for the increased Pro resolution.

Yeah, the forever battle between the resolution and supersampled resolution to reduce jaggies and increase view distance. I'm really happy with the CV1 but it's awesome that they bring better models at increased rate to the market. The situation seems good for the consumer , prices are still bit high though, but the used market is also available to compensate that gap. Vr is here to stay.

I bought a broken VIVE Pro on eBay for 300$. Fixed the snapped strap with plastic weld, and fixed some shorting audio wires. And it runs perfectly. I would have never paid 800$ for a Pro. I would love a Valve Index, but I don't want to drop another 1k$ into VR.

i do fine until it rains and i have to put shader on low. Puddles kill my 1080ti. Using index with
bit lower settings.
