This doesn't give me great hopes for Grid 2.0
Same here.
They supposedly confirmed non-RaceNet single player there, but I'll believe it when I see it.
And just imagine RaceNet problems in a game with a significantly more weighted career mode than DR2.0.
Thanks again racenet
So last week, I changed my mouse. For the last few days, I've been enjoying DiRT Rally 2.0 without repetitive CTDs so I thought I was back to enjoying the game for what it has to offer. Today, I was greeted to Racenet with the message that my career was reset. I thought, no problem, not a huge issue... I'll just restart another pro season with another car. I played my daily challenges, then went to start a PRO season with another car. The game told me after my first race that "your career has been reset due to discrepancies with Racenet" or some stupid sh*t like that again.
I think what Codemasters fail to see, is that it's for reasons like this that we don't purchase the game when it's full price; it's just not worth it. We've come to expect mediocrity in terms of reliability of their racing games over the years. If your product is not ready for the market, don't release it. If you'll have us do our single player career through your dangnabbit farkin' Racenet shlitz, you'd better make dang sure that it's not going to be the cause of our career not moving forward.
The last season that your Racenet crap system cancelled took me a month to progress through doing 1 to 4 stages per night, on and off, and I had 2 events left and managed to remain in 2nd place to that point in the championship. Leave SINGLE PLAYER gameplay OFF the Internet; we don't need it!! Even though I sometimes drive REAL racecars on racetracks for lapping sessions, I consider myself a casual gamer on the PC and I don't see why you feel you have to overview my subpar performances as a rally driver when I'm racing against the AI in the game.
Codemasters, you have a decent game that I enjoy driving in when it's not giving me headaches, but in terms of reliabilty and your Racenet, you should be ashamed of yourselves!! I'm a very patient man, and this game and Racenet have tested my patience on numerous occasions to the point that I regret having invested a few dollars last week to purchase your Finland track.
Racenet for single player = ridiculous - not fun - not necessary.
Remove it.
