My old G920 ( with shifter) worked fine on win 10
The Gear stick / selector iirc plugs into the wheel base. so the whole unit is served by 1 usb cable.
Its a great starter wheel.
Pedals are well built. ( you may find later that the brake dampener becomes annoying - plenty of You tube remedies should that be the case)
It does however has very few upgrade paths.
However as always there are several caveats.
Its advisable to run the wheel through a USB 2 port.. USB 3 ports can (depending on the make) give 'strange' results.
The original software when it was first released was known as LGS ( logitech gaming software) It is considerably more stable than the current " controller" offering G-Hub.
And has less 'in game' issues. and can be downloaded from the Logitech site.
Hope this helps
I hope it helps.
On a side note re. upgrading..
Should you get hooked on sims and you want to upgrade in the future..
There are adaptors that allow both the pedals and shifter/ gear selector to work with out the base unit.
Think mine cost circa £30. So it ( upgrading) can be done gradually .
sticking to beginner for now, but thank you.
also saw your profile, I didnt know driving rigs existed. I've been searching for them these last 10 minutes and I cant find a good one with support for driving wheel AND gear box, only driving wheel. do you have any suggestions? (under 300€/250£ would be ideal)
The Logitech system does clamp well to your desk. Pedal creep is the main problem ( well it was for me) Maybe look at buying a pirce of plywood /OSB to screw your pedals on ( long enough so it butts up to a wall or desk back)
My first generic wheel stand was a GT Omega Steering Wheel Stand PRO : cost about £90.
And then bought a office/desk 'racing' chair to go with it.
The frames/stands are big so you do need some room .
The motion rig in my profile is a modular design by the French company : Prosimu
I Started with the main frame & seat , Later added the Front actuators and then finally added the rear actuator over time.
As I drive primarily in VR I dont need to worry about screen positioning overly much.
Just keep in mind the FFB can be too strong for your table, so if it is a light table or a table that can wiggle or have some shaking I advise you to buy a proper support for it because, even more at a rally game like DR 2.0, it can shake and turn left and right on itself quite "strong" depending on what happen.
