Track limits
Is there a way to disable or move track limits on rally stages? I'm kinda tired of going off by 10 meters and getting reset, when I easily could turn around and get back upå on the road..
I remember back on WRC3 (the good one on PS2) you could go really far because you had a timer, I miss that!!

You should have bought BeamNG for free roaming.

It's much better than DR1 at least, and wayyyyy moreso than WRC 8. But I agree, it'd be nice to have the option to have much larger boundaries.

How do u prevent even bigger time gaining cuts taken on stages if reset lines are further away? On the straight road bits reset lines could be further away and maybe some areas in corner outer sides etc where u can't really gain time by cutting. But certain places just need to have strict reset lines or it just becomes a cutting fest on leaderboards.

There's already massive cuts to be taken in Poland over the fields where u can drive quite a bit off the road (10+ meters 30+ feet without a reset) and people abuse those to max to get best possible leaderboard times.

Maybe game needs penalty system that it detects time gain with a cut and u are handed a time penalty afterwards like in real life. in real life they are only allowed to cut one car width or so off the road before getting penalized. Of course if the cut due to a off-road moment, crash etc doesn't give time gain then no time penalty is given.

Here's example of my driving with two huge cuts in Finland on Kotajärvi stage on 1st split (time trial). With those lines I'm gaining approx. 1.5 - 2.0 seconds.

Like there sometimes these "cuts" aren't even proper cuts where u go shorter distance but u go longer way maintaining higher speed throuhout and with that gain time.

There are no general rules about cutting or cutting related to gaining time IRL.
In some cases, local rules to protect property, or rules layed down by the stewards
to protect drivers or spectators.

I keep posting these. Maybe some day the myth will be dead.. ;)

I suggest watching the whole video.

Clearly, in both videos, cutting is gaining both time and speed. Nothing wrong with that,
unless the stewards told you not to, before race start.

As for the cutting opportunities in-game, I vote for more rocks, poles and fences to prevent people from going berry picking. The game have an arcade feel already from
the time penalty popups, and I hope they cut that out in the next DR. Usually when I
get a 4 sec penalty or more, I have already lost 30 second sliding on the roof. The extra penalty popup breaks the immersion and realism of it all and seems totally unnecessary.

Cheers :)

I get that corner cutting would be an issue, but I'm playing single player and I play fair. I don't drive through a forest to save 10 secs. I just want to be able to turn around and drive back to the stage instead of being teleported literally 10 meters to the left or right.

Yes u might play fair at first but once u race against to highest levels elite/master u might want to gain every single extra second u can because they're very tough to beat on some class cars (or almost impossible to win unless u spend hundreds of hours memorizing stages because AI is driving almost world record times).

No, but some stages allow you to drive off the track for a (rather) long time:

At Monte Carlo you can drive along the guard rails to get quicker around the corner:
