Haven't driven them much but I quite like the Skoda Fabia. It feels fast and zippy whilst still really controllable. It doesn't seem to be at the top of the R5 leaderboards a whole lot though.
Skoda seems to have maybe least amount of ground clearance with highest ride height so it bottoms out a lot, but it's still okay to drive in USA, Scotland, New Zealand which are quite flat and of course on asphalt surfaces (Germany, Spain, Monaco).
Rest of the R5's: Ford Mk1, Mitsubishi, VW are quite similar in performance.
Then finally Ford Fiesta Mk2 could be fastest overall car since it's newest R5 (2019 car where as rest are 2018 or older, best power-to-weight ratio, maybe better balance, aero, suspension etc).
Other cars can perform very close to Ford Mk2 or even better in right hands. If u are nowhere near fastest times done with these cars then choice of car might not matter that much. U need to know how to tune also or find custom setups of other people to get most of these cars anyways.
