Learn to drive a rally car with the DiRT Rally School
DiRT Rally and DiRT Rally 2.0 provide an off-roading experience like no other, and have a reputation for challenging drivers to find their limits and break them.

They can be difficult games to get the hang of initially, so let's ease you into that with the DiRT Rally School!

The DiRT Rally School is a series of tutorial videos breaking down the complexities of off-road driving so that you can start your virtual rallying career on the right foot. We'll go through basic driving techniques, vehicle characteristics, road variables and more. As you continue to play and learn through experience, refer back to these so that the teachings are fresh in your mind.

You'll find the videos embedded below, and the full playlist is also on our YouTube channel. We'll see you on the road and hopefully, on the podium.

Good luck on your journey.

Cool work but what about adding cool features along with that? You know there are currently two modes that could be selectable on time list for freeplay. Afterall why not to enjoy awesome view of the game at dusk or dawn with rainy, cloudy or even dynamic weather changes over game? This feature will make it like a whole new game I think.

I hope that the developers can produce Chinese language. When the game is released, they say that they support Chinese. Up to now, they still don't have it, which makes the game of Chinese players extremely difficult. Thank you very much for the work of the developers. Thank you

I was looking for stuff like this in game. Thanks for recognizing the need and working on it! I played blindly and was so frustrated to learn hitting my head on the wall, specially annoying was the co-pilot shouting Greek to me.

On the next title, please consider putting something like this in the game. But give more attention and consult sports video editor or educators. The monotone and accent made the videos hard to follow from a non-native English speaker point of view and it was such a waste of tech to use only dash cams. Even real footage have better coverage. And don't forget slow motion and visual sketches for moments like the start and hairpins. Better than pauses.

A little unrelated, I miss the flashback feature from Colin McRae Dirt 2. I don't have all day to start 10min runs to learn every skill by trial and error as if I was going to start a career as a rally driver in the 90s. Free roam playground didn't have many features that the tracks had.

Other than that (and the uncanny lack of baked AO on the interiors) great work! Loved it in VR.

This is nice for basic and when i started rally sims this was very helpful. But now i feel like i am not learning anything new, i am at Pro difficulty and i am really struggling and i don't see how to be better or what i do wrong.

If there was in-game teacher for practice sessions it could say what i should do otherwise so i could concentrate on things what is needed to improve my speed. I feel like this is what we need. At real rally there is coach for every driver whom sees and says whats wrong.

Record your driving and study it. That will teach you more than anything. Pay attention to your split times and compare your videos to see what you did different to go faster.

Get your gears right. It is the single most important setting. You should max out every gear.
Don't just spread them evenly out, but make them fit for all your turns so you go through the turn with close to max RPM. The most important turns are those that leads to long straights, so make sure you have a gear that is adjusted to perfeclty fit those. Perfect gears also makes it easier to drive. If you have same gear on 2 stages, you are not having optimal gears.

(do this in Time Trial of course).

Cheers :)

Thanks, this did really help. And i understood better that feeling to push hard, i am playing on VR so i was afraid to push car on limits but revving helps a lot. And weird thing that after i drove at Spain tarmac with rwd cars i suddenly learned to drive them fast on gravel toi (maybe i learned breaking at tarmac and softness and took it to gravel) And have to remember to use eyes. And try to have fun and not think all driving rules all the time. Poland bumpy roads are still afwul, that section where middle of Road is more high than sides.

Learn to build a server system that works properly and gives users what they want, not one that is garbage, fails routinely and is down for hours at a time, with litlte info.

the stupid thing is they have the dirtfish thing there that nobody ever uses, why not just do a simple school thing there before you can play the game itself, it's not hard.

How about you fix your fekin server issues and then waste time on some stupid videos? For as big company as yours it is really pathetic. Also there are issues in VR from the beta that are still not fixed (front view auto-expossure/whitening, heavy rain looking s#it and not drivable, lame 2d replays and so on) and you waste time doing s#it like this that helps no one.

On another note - What a great idea! let's make mostly single player game dependant on online connection all the time. What could go wrong, right? RIGHT???

Don't fekin care. They take money either way. Consumers are screwed. All I need to know. I make my money by hard work and when I provide my services I make sure the cosnument is getting what he/she paid for. I guess this does not apply to a multimillion-dollar corporation? They work for the same people you know.
