Theory: Pro difficulty is literally impossible to win

Prove me wrong. Post a screenshot of you winning a stage or event on pro difficulty. I really want to be wrong about this but im pretty sure you cant win a Rally or RX event or even single stage/race. The computer is always significantly faster. Even when you win your group every single time in RX the other groups are all faster. Lets hope im wrong. Post it if you have it. Also if anyone has gotten at least 3rd on pro and unlocked what I assume is masters I would be interested to see that as well.

But in the career mode u can't choose difficulty? Or is this "unlocked" IF u manage to "beat" the master difficulty?

( Right now I'am competing in the elite difficulty and it's TOUGH but I like it! If I have a clean FAST stage then the AI in 1st are almost always 5-10 sec faster than me! So I guess IF I level up to master then it will be...DIFFICULT : )

Oof. I just hit the wall you are on about. Things were fine for me in Aus and NZ but hitting Poland in a Gr A Pro champ is something else.
I consider myself to know what i'm doing fairly well - I was one of those people that found Masters difficulty to be a piece of cake on DR1 and D4.
The AI in Poland though... Wow. I feel like i'm pushing at 100%, taking large cuts and almost barely holding the car on the road for nearly the entire stage. I was absolutely on the edge of what I can do with a fantastic car and perfect tyres for the conditions and the AI is a whole 7 secs faster than me.
I don't drive like that all the time. I was really pushing to try and beat this damn AI in an 'all or nothing' run. My other two events were fairly conservative driving and I'd still gain around 4-10 secs per stage on my nearest rival, sometimes more.

I guess i should have started this post with the fact that I have 475 hours in DR1. I too am not new to the Dirt Rally model. Its just way harder now. Too much so.

edit: i guess what im trying to say is, I dont think I will EVER be fast enough to win an R5 event if the AI remains this good. But honestly I dont think anyone will be. Also i think they are fairly unaffected by changed conditions like wetness and degradation. Again if anyone can come forward with a screenshot of a win i'd be glad to see it. After I took 1 stage on grp A I was never even close again

So I just won 3 stages in a row and I realized its the tire model. Soft tires dont wear nearly as fast as mediums do AND they are grippier. If you want to win use soft tire 100% of the time until they fix them. I will be starting a separate thread to address the tire problem.

I agree but it would have been be Nice to give us the choice to stay or come back to clubman. I loved rd1 because beat the game all the way too master but now I feel like ill never pass the pro.... Im like 20 seconds late..

I managed to place 2nd overall in Pro in the Mini Cooper. Rally not RX. Now Elite is waaay more difficult to post a top time. Dead last in Argentina and only managing teens on most other Rallies. Although I have had a couple of fourths on NZ and USA stages. No fastest times. But Spain I am doing fine with stage wins and an overall of second.

you are not the only one witnessed this. One of the solutions is to remove stage progress hud from the left hand side of screen and turn off time messages popping up for each sector. This will decrease potential damage on our psychology during stage runs and also make the rally experience more realistic for players. I do not expect any patches to address this issue. Codemasters is probably busy with optimization, ffb and Racenet issues right now.

top AI is hard but not impossible already done a few videos beating top AI . i think top AI times might be based on Jon armstrongs times so they should be hard. the game is pretty new so they will seem harder at first but as you progress you should get faster and the times shouldnt be so hard.

Well, it's good to have the ability to adjust difficulty. And knowing there is a difficulty you can't beat, is all the more fun. You can pay for one game, and play it a million times, and still not have finished it. Dhees ees dah wae, my bruddah. 120 mph straight into a concrete wall.
