Difficulty slider for career mode - where?
Title.

I've been told that there is a slider which can change difficulty of the game. However I can't seem to find one, except for custom championships.
I've played a few stages and I'm pretty sure that it is slightly harder than I prefer. Strangely enough rallycross seems way too easy for me, so I would like to increase it.
Or were the developers too busy with online single-player so they had to remove the slider?

not on career mode. It was never in career mode. Only freeplay has a changeable difficulty. The Career mode gets progressively harder as you play. If Open is too hard for you then go into free play to practice.

The career is way easier to win than in DR1. If I had to take a wild guess I'd say Open is around 20 difficulty.

Open is easy, I was 10-40 sek faster than AI on all stages. Changed car to VW Golf GTI and started Clubman level then I'm sudenly 10-40 sek slower than AI. In DR1 I drive stage times on Elite/Master level. What I've seen so far is Rally career in DR2 too demanding to be fun for me.

So I stopped playing career mode. Now only freeplay.

You clearly havent gotten to pro yet. Impossible to win a stage in an R5. Every single stage O. Acton sets a WR time

Dunno about you guy but what I loved about RBR was sure, you COULD go faster, but that was too risky. So you were balancing daring with safety. Other games tend to be all "Go flat out, it doesn't matter if you crash anyway", which is great, when you're 6 years old. This is much closer to what I like, except all the damage and stuff is not there in time trials? Incredibly stupid. For the career I'd rather set the difficulty to something like 5% and enjoy a game where I'm scared to crash, than blasting frantically across the landscape, bouncing off trees and crash barriers to get round corners quicker. You know, realism is a thing?

I haven't, still in Clubman. The difficulty is probably just different from DR1, where the best AI driver was almost as good in Open as he was in Masters.

I believe the difficulty is much higher here in DR2 than DR1, especially at the top levels. Both in Rally and Rallycross.

I do wish there was a difficulty slider to perhaps jump to 1 higher difficulty at least. I like the career progression and wouldn't want full control over difficulty (that was a fail in Project Cars 2 in my opinion). Just would like to perhaps have a little adjustment.. should have been able to start in clubmen since open was too easy for some while open is probably better for others so just some options where to start. Same for Rallycross.

The AI is in my Opinion too hard, now I am on Pro, In Zealand in Group A with a subaru 1995 it is a nightmare.... The best drivers are the Lancia Drivers and W.Nielsen with über 25 Seconds ahead from me every stage.... I am only on Place second lol but I am the best Subaru Driver in this class, the second best is on place 15 with +3 Minutes behind me....

I guess AI changes their initial times if you get faster on high levels. The closest rival goes berserk if you begin to kick his b*tt stage after stage. Then he goes even faster, then you beat him again but your spine goes mad at you. Then your rival goes even faster. Like in a Charlie Chaplin movie....

career mode is virtually impossible to win with a gamepad. not everyone is able to use a wheel. theres i thing in the real called disabilities. Codemasters seem to forget that when clearly making their games work much better with a wheel. Typical cm elistism

ye can't even win a race on Historic 2, bought 5 different cars. Using ps4 pro gamepad. Thanks Codemasters.

Good to read this here, was just praising Codemasters for giving players the control of difficulty at anytime in Dirt 4, even on career mode in a review. So now I see that Dirt Rally 2.0 does not have this, I now know this game is not for me ;-).

Not really for me either, have pretty much given up on the game. Am absolutely sick to death of the 'Connecting to Racenet.... '

'Connecting to Racenet.... '

'Connecting to Racenet.... '

FFS! Sick of that ♥♥♥♥. It's actually made me dislike the game.
