Struggling with H2 RWD
I might just be bad but I am really struggling with the H2 RWD. I've only managed to get in the top 10 one time (2nd place) and was averaging 15th per stage. Don't remember this problem in DR1. I did great with the H1 FWD 1st place almost every time.

Any tips? Anyone else having this problem? It is almost like if I do a perfect run just to keep the car under control I'm placing 10th and above sometimes 30 seconds to a minute behind 1st place. I'm glad it is difficult and I love the game but something just feels off. The RWD is just oversteer city even with feathered throttle and counter steering. Reminds me a lot of Forza which is a bad flashback.

Are the times more realistic now compared to DR1? I see that the AI is getting times more grouped up compared to DR1 where there were minutes between 1st to last place.

Can you see car tuning as available for your H2 RWD car in career?

Which car are you driving?

If you are in career I have found the same issue. I left the AI Performance default at 70/Medium. I made it through the Open series and then started Clubman using the Fiat Abarth and was pretty much dead last or next to dead last ( so you're better than I am). I have tried using other cars and classes with pretty much the same results.

I have found no way of adjusting the AI Performance after you're initial setting. The Clubman in this game (with AI Performance 70/medium) is much harder than in Dirt Rally, where I had no issue placing in the top three until I hit Masters.

Calling anyone a noob when you have a VAC ban is a big oof.
So is commenting on the physics when you don't own the game

FWD and 4WD cars understeer on throttle and RWD will oversteer on throttle. I say that you need to practice, RWD cars behave differently than most cars in this game. I can manage to beat the AI on medium 70% difficulty but if i try the R4 class I am at the bottom of the time tables, even when I believe I did great, because I am only used to RWD.

It was career mode hadn't unlocked tuning just wasn't expecting it to be so bad. The Ford Escort MKII was what I drove during the career. I setup a custom championship with the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally and was 100% better. If you decide to do career H2 RWD wait until you buy the Fiat. Granted I could only get 7th at 70% ai difficulty with the Fiat about 17 seconds behind 1st. Weirdly enough I was flat out that entire stage too. I just probably need practice. Just couldn't find any mistakes in the replay.

I do have to agree the tarmac was way too easy with a FWD.

Also that video doesn't show an H2 RWD you were driving the FWD Lancia and an EVO imo that isn't comparable to a RWD. I destroyed the career with all firsts in the lancia. In general it was fine the H2 just felt overly difficult with the AI and the cars themselves. Fiat is much better to handle still the AI is way ahead.

The physics on tarmac are pretty messed up. Infinite grip with a FWD makes no sense then you get in a rear wheel and get over steer without touching the gas pedal.

I did find it interesting how most of the preview videos on youtube didn't include much tarmac previews. Can't imagine why... Going back to RBR is a given like always.

I was having the same problem coming into clubman with the Ford escort mk2. All of a sudden coming dead last trying my hardest. The oversteer problem was giving me shoulder pain when trying to correct on every corner. My fix was changing the degrees rotation of my logitec g29 from 900 degrees to 270 degrees. It's a bit wobbly at first but once you have done a stage or two you are back at first place leading by 20 sec. Much easier to power through the corners now. Also in tuning setting to angle to full inwards and changing the diff to suit terrain but the steering wheel change made the greatest impact

Ahh okay good tip. That is literally the exact same thing I had to do in Forza with the degrees of rotation in order for it to be playable. I'll try that out!

I have 2 x 1st place championships won with the mk2. I use G27 540 degrees rotation, no assists, no hud ect.

Try to use your breaking in place of handbreak... I use handbreak only when I absolutely need to nudge my nose around (and its ALWAYS at low speed). Feather the throttle to drift through corners. Be weary of too much gas. Play with breaking into corner entry, with front break bias this will shift your car into turning...so you can modulate with both gas and break in and through corners if needed. Try being subtle and counter steer quickly as needed.

For tuning minimum/default I do:
-break bias 59% (1 tick below default)
-change ride height up or down based on tarmac or gravel/dirt (I go with 25% up or down from middle/default)
-maybe change final drive for Argentina to really low (it's not like there is straights to really open up on anyways)
-for advanced tuning I soften just about everything up to a degree for Argentina...it's brutal on that little ford :)

And remember, sometimes slower is actually faster. I get in maybe 1-2 MINOR accidents that make me lose significant time every event. If you are crashing or spinning out - go slower!
