How to fix stuttering caused by wheel / shifter plugged in USB - Logitech G920
FIXED

Disable USB Input Device(s) in Device Manager until you see the stuttering go away. The change is immediate, so you can keep the game open while you test. I have a GSYNC monitor and have only had luck with Fullscreen, Borderless doesn't work well for me yet.

For the fix, in Device Manager you will see a few "USB Input Device"s towards the bottom of Human Interface Devices (I had 7). You will have to disable each USB Input Device 1 at a time to identify the one that is the problem. For me, it has not consistently been the same input device, so each time I launch Dirt 2.0, I have to re-disable each one until I find the problematic USB Input Device. One of the USB Input Devices is my mouse, another is my headset, none of them were my keyboard, and the mouse and headset devices were never the fix for the stuttering, it was always one of the other devices.

I hope this helps some of you, and more importantly, I hope this helps Codemasters fix their game. Please let me know if this does or doesn't fix it for you below.

You don't have to restart your computer for any of this. You don't have to unplug anything. In device manager, right click->disable device. You will see the icon next to the USB Input Device change to one with a down arrow.

Thats simple. RaceNet is having issues. CM is working on fixing it.

But what if the usb device is wheel or peddles or some other devise you need? I guess you are pretty much fked then!

Is the stuttering that you fixed the type that happens every 2-3 seconds or the constant stutter that happens multiple times a second?

Stutter you may be experiencing is from Latency issues on your PC. There are free tools on the internet you can download that will pinpoint what exactly is bogging you down. It could be your wheel. It could be out of date driver/firmware for your Gaming Keyboard, or anything hooked up.

If your GPU can handle the game just fine I would try swapping USB port for your peripherals first. Sometimes certain peripherals don't like or prefer USB 2.0 over 3.0 ports.

My stuttering happens every 2-3 seconds. It has never been the wheel and pedals for me, those show up as Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel USB in device manager.
