I don't know, their just deleted.

The licence to songs/cars/other licenced content expired so they cant sell the game digitally so instead of renewing they deleted it instead

Dirt 3 & Dirt showdown are gone too. Grid 2 will prob go soon aswell

I would very much be interested in re-worked DiRT 1 and 2 games that don't need licenses for posterity. DiRT 3 was removed and replaced by Complete edition, though.

Aside from the licensing issue listed above, Dirt 2 was also one of the games using the horrible and long defunct Games for Windows Live integration, which makes the game's DLC unbuyable and probably other concerns relating to stability and crashing.

Fun game but sadly it's likely you will only be able to get it on disc version from now on.
