Dirt Rally and Dakar 2018
I just did a free weekend for the Dakar Rally game. The steering felt pretty good through the sand which was the the first 1/3 or so of the loooong race.

Then when I got to the road sections and off road sections. The steering really felt like Dirt Rally 1 with all the bumps, rocks, pot holes, etc. The sliding of the cars around corners, I felt I was driving DR1.

Now I don't believe in coincidences, could this be why Codies can't replicate the DR1 physic's in DR 2.0's hoover crafts. Maybe those programer's are not there any more?

just a thought

I got any knowledge about "Dakar 2018" and as you, I have no anger against people who loves the game Dirt Rally 2.0. ;-)

I have been caught by some sweet dreams and hopes so, that’s entirely my fault and I say "Well done Codemasters, you did it again !" ;-)

Cheers ! ;-)

I hope you're right Patches, as many Dirt Rally 2.0 owners will be looking for a better game to play if Codies don't fix this game soon.

It's on sale and 2 free DLC Dakar Rallys extra. I just bought the game after playing all weekend. It took me 10-12 hours to run the complete Dakar rally on rookie. On Rookie you can't get lost as easy.

It's not like these rally games. There are many ways to get lost, get penalty points and road side repairs. You can even get out of the car and walk around. The Dirt Rally1 drivers will like the driving as I did. But put the top "steering sensitivity" on 100% from their 50% I think is all I had to change.

Some of the stages are well over an hour long. Make sure you slow down for the little housing areas also or penalty points. When the Nascar race is over on TV, I'm heading back to Dakar.

Too bad it is the biggest joke of a game ive ever played. Enjoy terrible feeling cars that are completely unrealistic while driving for 45 minute stages across sand dunes. Whatever you paid was too much.

Actually it sounds like you didn't play the game too long as only the first few stages are on sand anyway.

But thanks for wasting yours and my time.

enjoy

No you are right. There are also rocky desert stages. I guess I should give credit where credit is due. Also, though it may be a computer that can not "duplicate reality" there are still varying degrees of closeness. Dakar is about as far from reality as you can get.

And drawing out planned, edited responses from a poster is never a waste of time.
